T450N Lift-and-Slide Window Unit

The T450N Lift-and-Slide brings the precision engineering of the thermally-broken T450N system to large-format horizontal sliding applications. A precision multi-point lifting mechanism raises the sash off its compression seals for effortless, near-weightless operation — then drops it back down onto the seals for an airtight, weather-tight closure that performs like a fixed unit. Panels up to 400 lbs glide with a single turn of the handle.

The system features the T450N's signature 5/8" sightline, a dual-glazed Low-E IGU with argon fill delivering a NFRC U-factor of 0.24 and SHGC options down to 0.20, and a polyamide thermal break strut in both sash and frame. Stainless steel lift-and-slide hardware is fully concealed within the aluminum extrusion cavity — no exposed track, no visible mechanism, just a clean profile and a sash that moves like it weighs nothing.

In a Portland hillside residence or a Marin County modern farmhouse, the T450N Lift-and-Slide transforms a wall into a threshold — and a threshold into a view.

Studio View — Sash Partially Open, Lift Rail and Compression Seal Revealed

The T450N Lift-and-Slide with the sash in the partially open position. The concealed stainless lift rail is visible in the lower track, and the cross-section callout at the sill reveals the compression weather seal gasket in the lifted position — the engineering that makes 400-lb panels feel effortless.

Installed Performance — Portland Modernist Hillside Residence, Autumn

T450N lift-and-slide window gliding open to cantilevered deck overlooking Douglas fir forest in autumn foliage at Portland Oregon modernist hillside residence with couple in Eames chairs

The T450N Lift-and-Slide gliding open to a cantilevered deck overlooking a Douglas fir forest in peak autumn foliage. A couple reads in Eames chairs as amber and gold light filters through the trees — the sash disappears into the wall pocket, and the forest becomes the room.

Multi-Point Lifting Cam Detail — 3mm Lift Position Before Lateral Travel

Close-up of multi-point lifting cam mechanism at handle junction showing sash elevated 3mm off compression weather seal in lift position before lateral travel

The multi-point lifting cam mechanism at the handle junction, showing the sash elevated precisely 3mm off the compression weather seal in the lift position — the moment before lateral travel begins. The stainless steel cam is concealed within the aluminum extrusion cavity, maintaining the clean 5/8" sightline profile.
